Zippo has done it again! They have created a lighter case that every collector and World of Warcraft fan is sure to want. This is an elaborately carved vision of the Lich King in antique sterling silver.

Blizzard Entertainment has added a new dimension to their World of Warcraft, a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMPRPG.) Their interactive fantasy adventure game allows more than eight million players to interact with each other in grand exploits and heroic quests. With their new expansion, The Wrath of the Lich King, even more characters and adventures will be available for players. Zippo honors this addition to the World of Warcraft lore with its Wrath of the Lich King lighter.

The lighter features intricate and detailed carvings on all sides. On the bottom of this World of Warcraft flameless lighter letters in a scary jagged font spell out the company name, Blizzard. One flat side of the lighter shows the carved grip of a sword being grasped by two strong hands. The pommel of the sword has small carved skulls encircling it. This sword is the sword, the runeblade of Frostmoune.

It is the weapon of the Lich King The hands belong to the human Arthas Menethil who upon making a pact with the shaman Ner’shul to gain enough power to take over the Warcraft world of Azeroth was turned into the Lich King and imprisoned in the Frozen Throne. The evil results of Arthas’s pact are represented by the small skulls on the pommel of the sword. The skulls are the symbols of the army of the undead who the Lich King is going to use to take over the world of Azeroth. On the case, next to the hands, is a dangerously spiky structure that reminds us of the Frozen Throne in the icy forbidding lands of Northrend. There are also more skulls and a crown at the bottom of the lighter.

The opposite flat side of the lighter shows a bas relief of the sword, Frostmourne, being held in the same two hands just ready to plunge downward to kill an enemy. From the guard of the sword is suspended an evil devil ram, one of the Lich King’s evil minions. The sword itself is a vicious-looking length of steel with barbs and hooks and jagged pointed teeth. It is a sword that would rip and tear going into or being pulled out of flesh.

Finally, the edges of the lighter are carved with more skulls of the victims of the Lich King’s voracious appetite for blood and power. These skulls are members of the Burning Legion of the undead that the Lich King is going to use in his takeover of the rest of Azeroth. The skulls also remind the viewer of the Skull of Gul’dan with bestows demonic power on any who encounter it.

This antiqued silver lighter might almost work as a talisman of strength and remembrance of evil intention for any World of Warcraft player’s character that joins with the Lich King.
