RHONJ Melissa Gorga opening her clothing boutique, Envy, in Ridgewood

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga is bringing her clothing boutique, Envy, to Ridgewood.

Gorga opened Envy in Montclair in 2015, and the boutique had a starring role in Season 7 of the Bravo series. A business breakup led to a monthlong closure of the shop in 2017.

Envy sells fashionable high-end designer tops, dresses, shoes and accessories online and at the brick-and-mortar store at 609 Bloomfield Ave.

Gorga revealed on the “Give Them Lala” podcast that she would be expanding her store to downtown Ridgewood.

“I’m opening a second Envy, double the size, about to open next month,” she said recently.

Gorga’s representatives said she was traveling in Florida, and she did not immediately respond to a request for an opening date and other details. But merchants in Ridgewood pointed to the former Jekyll & Hide luggage store at 9 E. Ridgewood Ave., which was decorated with flowers and vines and given a fresh coat of paint last week, as the future home of the boutique.

Gorga and her husband, Joe Gorga, are building a home in nearby Franklin Lakes.

Envy by Melissa Gorga endured a bit of drama in its early years. The store, which spotlighted Gorga as its design inspiration, closed over New Year’s weekend in 2017 when Gorga’s partner, Jackie Beard Robinson, exited the business.

Robinson said at the time that she had dissolved her partnership with Gorga because of business differences. Robinson said she had contributed all of the operating expenses for the store, and was the majority owner, while Gorga has contributed her name and celebrity status in return for a 20% stake.

The store reopened after a month. Last week, someone who answered the phone at the Montclair store said it would be closing and moving to Ridgewood, but Gorga could not be reached to confirm that.

Season 12 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” is now airing on Bravo TV. The show is among the most popular and longest-running series on the network.
