Home and Garden Show features at least 50 vendors – Jamestown Sun

This year’s Home and Garden Show features at least 50 vendors, said Emily Bivens, executive director of the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce, which holds the event.

The Home and Garden Show is scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10, at the Jamestown Civic Center. Admission is free.

“It’s just a relaxing time, you can come in … see all the vendors, shop and support local,” she said. “And hopefully the weather is nice. Be planning your springtime projects.”

The show is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10. The main event sponsor is RE/MAX Now of Jamestown and Valley City, Bivens said.

“There’s a wide range (of vendors),” Bivens said. “Everything from buying a home to helping make home improvements … Harmsen’s Greenhouse will be there with some plants and garden ideas.”

Bivens noted that “home and garden” covers a variety of topics and the range of vendors participating in the show reflects that. Vendors include those offering kitchen products to windows, remodeling, home improvement and more.

“There’s also a few banking vendors so if people looking to buy or sell (their home) those types of vendors will be there as well,” she said.

Food will be available at the event through businesses that include Reister Meats & Catering, The Grateful Plate and Sabir’s Buffalo Grill, Bivens said.

Returning is the scavenger hunt for children, Bivens said. The scavenger hunt was a popular activity for children during the 2021 Home and Garden Show.

“We had really good feedback on it,” Bivens said. “We didn’t know what to expect as far as numbers. It was very well received and kind of fun to do.”

Vendors can sign up to be a kid-friendly booth. Those vendors who sign up will display a springtime picture at their booth. When children come to the show, they can stop at the chamber booth and get a card that displays all of the springtime pictures. When they find a picture at a vendor’s booth that matches their card, the vendor will stamp the photo. Once the card is completely stamped, the child returns it to the chamber booth, where the child gets a prize, a pot to decorate and a plant for the pot donated by Flower Power Greenhouse, Bivens said.

“There are 22 kid-friendly booths who have agreed to have them (pictures) at their booth,” she said.

Bivens is hopeful for attendance at this year’s event, noting last year went well.

“We actually had really good attendance (in 2021),” she said. “I think we estimated around 3,000 people went through on both days. We were pretty pleased for the first year after COVID.”
